The Golden State Warriors will play the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night in Louisiana.

After defeating the Houston Rockets in Texas on Sunday night by a score of 127-120, this will be the second night of a back-to-back. It was Klay Thompson’s most incredible game of the season, scoring 41 points on 10 of 13 three-point attempts.

The Warriors also triumphed in their first away match (they had been 0-8 coming into the game). They won’t have Thompson for Monday’s game since he has been declared ineligible due to injury management.

Despite having an 8-9 record through their first 17 games, the Warriors are currently riding a two-game winning streak after defeating the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets.

Although they are the 11th seed in the Western Conference, they are only 3.5 games back of the top-seeded Utah Jazz. The Pelicans are entering the contest, tied the Dallas Mavericks for the eighth spot in the west with a 9-7 record through their first 16 games.

Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson might have lost millions after deciding to receive a portion of their wages in Bitcoin in January.

Due to the recent crypto meltdown, numerous people have learned to be cautious while dealing with risky digital assets. For Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala, it might be a costly lesson because they could lose millions of dollars in pay due to the precipitous decline in the value of Bitcoin (BTC).

According to Marcin Dragunov of Crypto Mode, Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson agreed to accept a portion of their salaries in bitcoin in January of this year. “they accomplished this in collaboration with the online bank Cash App. In honor of the app’s new trading features, including the ability to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, the champion team athletes were to get their BTC tokens through the app.”

BTC was still worth nearly $35,000 when the Golden State Warriors players signed the contract in January. There was a prevailing notion that the cryptocurrency would increase in value. After all, just a few months earlier, it had reached its all-time high value of $68,000.

NBA Journey

The Golden State Warriors chose Klay Thompson as the 11th overall choice in the 2011 NBA Draft. After Monta Ellis moved their starting guard at the time to the Bucks just before the 2012 trade deadline, Klay quickly established himself as a starter. He had a solid season’s end, earning him a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Over the following few seasons, Klay improved as a shooter and defender to rank among the best in the league.

He was first named to both an All-NBA Team and an NBA All-Star Team during the 2014–2015 NBA season. He and Steph Curry established a strong backcourt chemistry that ultimately helped the Warriors win their first title in more than 40 years.

In the 2015 NBA Finals, they defeated Lebron’s Cavaliers, with Klay averaging 15.8 points per game while providing outstanding defence.

He continued to make it to the finals five years in a row and four more times, adding two more rings to his collection along the way, shattering NBA records and winning numerous individual awards.

It probably would have been three if his ACL injury in Game 7 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors hadn’t occurred. The sixth game of the 2019 NBA Finals was Klay’s final NBA contest. He damaged his Achilles tendon just before the 2020–2021 season got underway.

He will be eager to return and assist Steph, and the Warriors in winning one final game before Steph’s prime wears off as the Warriors’ window of contention is slowly closing.
