NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH Golden Shores

by Paul Maxwell, "In My Opinion..."

03.05.10 This week has passed with very little criminal activity. Although we have had a very high presence of MCSD in the G.S. community.

In the area of Casa Grande and El Mirage, residents witnessed a juvenile, who lives on Casa Grande, shooting out windows with a BB gun. The witnesses of the criminal act are afraid of repercussions from this kid.

There is a gang of four who either live or frequent the area. They move around in the utility easement a long time after curfew. So anyone observing these juveniles call 758.0700. You can request the officer not to come to your house but to call you on the phone for information.

When the MDSD arrests these low-lifes for these burglaries, the residents need to attend the trial and sentencing. A judge might be more prone to remove this scum from our community if they see the people who hire them and watch their actions. Then at the next election, FIRE THEM.

The Watch observation cars logged 1144 miles and 350 man hours in February. 17 drug deals were observed, 3 unsecured homes and 4 curfew violations. The good news is that residents are lighting their properties. Both types of alarm, silent and noise, are being installed. This, in my opinion, is great!

All suspicious vehicles that are observed in Golden Shores, information on the vehicle including license # are given to MCSD.

On April 10th we will have an ERACE officer at the Civic Meeting to provide information on the upcoming community cleanup. The Golden Shores Neighborhood Watch will be serving tacos cooked by our infamous cook, Butch Zercher, with his sidekick, Bill Trotter. More details to follow in the next few weeks.

The Watch has received some nice donations to help with gasoline for the observation vehicles. This is really appreciated.

During our patrols this week, a bicycle was recovered. Anyone who had a bike stolen in the last 2-3 weeks can call 768.9128 and ID the lost bike. The bike looks new.

I have been told that on MySpace.com a person can observe all the young people around Topock. One can also read all of their trash talk. I was told it is something all residents of Golden Shores should look at. Just go to MySpace.com, do an advanced search for people within 10 miles of this zip code.

Well until next week be kind to your neighbors and yourself. Stay alert and remember – to have good neighbors you have to be a good neighbor.
