Over 150 attend Supervisors' meeting Monday to oppose tax hike
Mohave County residents are urging the Board of Supervisors not to raise the primary property-tax early next month.
During a meeting Monday in Kingman, all 53 speakers who addressed the board were opposed to the tax hike projected to bring in nearly $700,000 or 2% to the county treasury. Speakers put supervisors on the hot seat at times, scolding them for how they spend county money. Residents described economic hardships and how they're forced to live on fixed incomes. County supervisors are scheduled to meet August 1 to discuss adoption of the proposed property tax hike.
