Credit card skimmers found on gas pumps at 2 Circle K stores
The Bullhead City Police Department and the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures are investigating the theft and fraudulent use of credit card numbers occurring at gas pumps.
On Thursday 6.30, the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures (A.D.W.M.) inspected gas pumps in the Bullhead City area. A.D.W.M. found wireless enabled credit card skimming devices that had been installed inside the gas pumps at two Bullhead City locations. These skimming devices store consumers’ credit card numbers which are later used by criminals to make fraudulent purchases elsewhere. A.D.W.M. removed the devices from a gas pump at the Circle K Store located at 5th Street and Highway 95, and from a gas pump at the Circle K Store at Riverview Drive and Highway 95. In each case the devices had been installed on pumps that were farthest from sight of the store cashier.
