State sells capital buildings. Did they have your permission?
In the midst of a $2 billion deficit, Arizona is claiming it has just made $735 million by selling more than a dozen state buildings, include the state's Capitol. But if they sold it, don't they have to take the cost into consideration to determine how much they "made"?
Did you vote for this? I didn't vote for this! Can they just drive the taxpayers into deeper debt without a vote? In addition to the state capitol, both legislative chambers and a number of state offices were also sold this week. Both private and institutional investors apparently bought bonds. “There was such an appetite in terms of how many investors wanted to buy those bonds that you could actually negotiate a lower rate,” said Grant Nulle, Arizona House of Representatives Fiscal Policy Director. Treasurer Dean Martin told the Arizona Republic that the cash, along with regular tax collections, should be enough to help the state pay the bills through the June 30 end of the fiscal year. So then what? Is the state going to sell off more buildings? Why not sell off the buildings the state took from the Charles Keating case about 20 years ago instead of our state capital? I think $735 million would last me longer than 6 months, even if I let my wife go shopping. Call or email us today and let GSX help your business to grow. Email: Click Here Phone: (928) 768-1400
