Identity theft, fugitive
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Warren Armitage, 50, of Mohave Valley, Tuesday morning 1/12 for taking identity of another, felony, along with three counts of false reporting to law enforcement, misdemeanors, and an outstanding warrant.
Just before 9:00 a.m. deputies contacted Armitage during a traffic stop in 8100 block of Highway 95. When deputies initially contacted the passenger, later identified as Armitage, he identified himself as another person. Eventually deputies determined the passenger’s true identity to be Armitage. A record check showed Armitage to have a fugitive from justice felony warrant issued by California Department of Corrections. Armitage was taken into custody without incident.
